    Lose weight fast

Apparently you’re eating more calories than you expend, so you need to cut back if you want to lose weight.

First of all – 300 calories is NOT healthy at all, you probably lost weight because your body wasn’t getting enough energy. 1500 is a good calorie count, but not everything you should base on calories. Make sure you are eating the right fats, and lots of protein. Eat fresh foods not prepackaged or “boxed” foods… Haven’t you heard anybody say stay on the outside of the grocery store, because thats where the fresh stuff is. Make sure you are eating lots of greens, fibre, protein- salmon, chicken, beef. Cut down your bread, sugar and transfat intake. Stay AWAY from most fast food. and most importantly, a healty diet must be mixed with a healthy exercise plan. Make sure you are doing lots of cardio mixed with weight training to help burn the fat off, but you have to be consistent!

Because you have practically starved yourself before, your body now thinks that 1500 calories is a “surplus” and is trying to “store” the extras in preparation for the next time you may dramatically decrease your caloric intake. You may have been at an unrealistic weight for your body size and now your body is settling back into a healthier weight. I would stay with the 1500 calories/day and increase your physical activity by exercising.

You need at the bare minimum 1000 calories a day to be healthy. Anything under and your body is going to go into starvation mode and you’ll be lacking energy.

Try eating regularly, several small meals a day, between 1500 and 1700 calories. Eating every few hours will help your metabolism keep going…. but don’t eat junk food… aim for fruits and veggies, foods with protein and fiber— they will keep you fuller but provide you with a lot of energy without being high in calories.

Mostly, I’d suggest talking to a professional, like a nutritonist. they can figure out exactly what you should be eating and can give you healthy tips to losing weight.

Eating less that 700 calories is NOT healthy.

ok… what you’re saying is impossible 300-700 calories/day. That’s how much my breakfast is every morning. If you really did starve yourself like this you will have to realize that you basically told your body to ring an emergency bell and to not spend any energy. it closed shop and started to operate on a tight budget. You WILL gain weight. lots and lots of it until you convince it that u don’t need the economy mode any more.
The only way to get out of this is to start running until you even it out. you eat 1500/ day, but spend 500-700 calories in the gym(hours of sweat). then you gradually start eating more and exercising less until your body goes back to normal. it’s never a good idea to stop exercising of course :D

This is so typical, you are starving yourself and your body is not going to forgive you. You starved it and your body is saying “uh uh uh, not again, and now everything you eat its going to hold on to it like a pitbull on a hotdog. Soooo what you need to do is focus on getting your metabolism up, by guess what Eating moreeeeee. but not of control, proper diet and excersise will get you right. try to eat 5-6 smalls a day about every 2 -3 hrs of just grazing. And its all about portion control. the next time you make your self a meal start putting a 1/4 to 1/3 of it to the side. just get in the habit of eating proper and start a walk to run program ASAP. So this way you can burn everything you eat. You have to create a caloric deficit by burning calories and then by eating right and smart you will not gain weight but start to lose weight. Good Luck

You’ve just broken the cardinal rule in fat loss. You’re cutting calories too much too fast. This slows your metabolism down real low and your body adapts to it. Eating 300 calories is no better than starvation… ok, maybe a TINY bit better. But it still puts your body into serious starvation mode.

When you start increasing calories again, your body will hoard and store up every bit of food you eat since it has been deprived for so long. This is when the weight will start to pile on, even with 1000 calories per day. Incidentally, 1000 calorie diets are for hamsters and gerbils, IMO.

I hope everyone reads this because cos I’m tired of saying it:

The first thing you want to do when losing weight is NOT to cut calories. You ALWAYS start by cleaning up your diet. This means no junk, no soda, no candy, no doughnuts, no fried sh1t, and basically NOTHING unhealthy.

You should be eating TONS of vegetables, fruits, healthy fats (fish oil, flax oil, avocados, nuts), good lean protein (with as little fat as possible) and keep your starchy carbs (rice, noodles, potatoes, etc) to an absolute minimum.

Once you have done this, add some exercise to your daily life. At least 30 mins of brisk walking (you should be working up a sweat by mid point) everyday.

Just by doing these 2 things alone, you WILL lose weight. I can guarantee you this. After you have done all this for about 3 to 4 weeks, THEN you can start to cut calories gradually. Start with a 300 calorie deficit. Then maintain for about 2 weeks. Then when your fat loss starts to plateau, which it WILL, cut it further by 300. Then when it plateaus again, repeat. You get the picture?

Think about it: if you start by cutting you daily intake to a ridiculous 300, once you hit a plateau, which happens to everyone losing weight, what else are you going to cut? There’s nothing more to take away… how much lower can you go? Zero calories per day??

Take home message: Cutting calories should be the LAST step. Think of it as the fine tuning. You need to work on eating right first.
