What food should I add to my diet to keep me alert throughout the day?

The thing is I think I’m doing everything correctly. I exercise in the morning, drink a lot of water, and eat nutritous meals throughout the day. What am I missing? are u cutting out carbohydrates from your diet? They are essential especially if you’re weight training or doing intensive cardio.
